Bioactive Ingredient Lactobacillus stimulans™ for Stimulation of the Commensal Skin Flora
Frequently used hygiene measures such as hand washing can damage the natural microbial shield of the skin. This removes not only harmful bacteria but also beneficial bacteria of the skin's protective microflora. In our microbial strain collection we have identified a probiotic Lactobacillus strain producing bioactive substances which specifically promote the growth of the positive commensal skin microflora.
The Lactobacillus stimulans™ strain of Lactobacillus brevis was identified after a detailed, multi-year screening process by Organobalance GmbH (Berlin).
Lactobacillus stimulans™ is a cell-free extract filtrate from a proprietary lactic acid bacterium Lactobacillus brevis. Applied topically, the bioactive ingredient Lactobacillus stimulans™ promotes the protective skin microbiota. This microbial shield defends the skin from pathogens, stabilizing the natural skin barrier function and improving the dry skin condition.
